Love it or hate it, we've all seen that Sydney Sweeney 'good jeans' ad by now.

But have you seen the one where she is promoting Methylene blue, a medication that treats methemoglobinemia, a rare blood condition that affects how red blood cells deliver oxygen throughout your body?

Right, because it wasn't real and it was a deepfake by the (in)famous Alex Jones. Here is the original post on X.

This was content created to impersonate someone else, the definition of a deepfake. The extra dangerous part is the nature of the post; it wasn't for jeans, or some kind of other apparel, the deepfake was used for a medication endorsement I'm sure Sydney Sweeney didn't sign up for marketing.

We at AI or Not will continue to fight misinformation across all content types: images, video, deepfakes, text and audio.

And, for the record, we're not commenting on whether or not Methylene blue is good or bad, just the fact that non-consent celebrity deepfakes shouldn't be used to promote it, or anything else.
